Meow, meow

I have my two little nieces stay with me a lot and they LOVE Hello Kitty.   We tried our hand at making Hello Kitty cake pops before, and it did take a lot of trial and error to get the results we wanted.  My co-worker requested 2 dozen cake pops for her niece's birthday, a few weeks ago and I was excited to make them again.
I must invest in a digital camera, my camera phone is definitely lacking.

I found the daisy sprinkles above at Michael's and thought they would be perfect bows for Hello Kitty.  When I went to Hawaii there were tan Hello Kitties everywhere, that gave me the inspiration for these!

My decorator (niece) was not with me when I made these, she usually does the whiskers.

Hello Kitty is tan and ready for summer!  Are you?  LOVE these!  Made with Oreos and dipped in peanut butter candy melts.  Now, I want to go back to Hawaii.

The French Macaron, with one O!

I've been pretty obsessed with the French Macaron.  What's a French Macaron?

A macaron (French pronunciation: [makaˈʁɔ̃])[1][2] is a sweet confectionery made with egg whites, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond, and food coloring. The macaron is commonly filled with buttercream or jam filling sandwiched between two cookies. Its name is derived from an Italian word "maccarone" or "maccherone".
(From Wikipedia)

Not to be confused with a French Macaroon, the coconut cookie.

I used Martha's basic recipe because she uses the basic measurements. Most Macaron recipes have the ingredients measured in grams.  I will be investing in a digital scale soon, but for now, Martha's recipe works very well.  Martha has it as a French Macaroon, but it should be Macaron.  However you pronounce it, these Macarons, when made correctly can be beautiful and DELICIOUS!

I love these because they are delicious, delicate little bites and with so many color options, will look great on any themed dessert table!

These will be available for odering soon!

The Circus is Coming to Town

A very close of friend threw her sister a wonderful Circus themed baby shower.  As always, she and her family threw an AWESOME party.  Hot dogs, nacho bar, and tons of different varieties of food! My favorite part, besides the international buffet of food they had, was the dessert table.  Oh pretty, pretty, sweet things all on one table.

My camera phone does not do this table justice!  Flan, circus farm cookies, delicious cookies, cotton candy, swirly lollipops, cupcakes and cake pops.

She requested I make her yellow and white lemon cake pops to put in the popcorn tins, loved how it turned out!

I also made her some baby blue favors.  Let's just say it went with the "It's a boy" theme, would also be great for bachelorette parties :P

Chocolate Gooey Goodness!

When I first heard that Starbucks was selling cake pops, I went the same day to try them!  My favorite is rocky road, I also liked tiramasu, but the vanilla birthday cake was just okay to me.  Here is my attempt to recreate the rocky road cake pop, and they came out delicious!

I toasted the almonds to give it an extra crunch... yum!

I also picked up a box of graham crackers from my local Trader Joe's and decided... S'MORES CAKE POPS!!

I think these would be great for any camping trip :D
